eBANK is one of the major Internet-only banks in Japan. Founded in early 2000, eBank was granted a Japanese banking license in 2001. eBank boasts an exclusive market position, a solid business model and a customer base of over 2.9 million.
eBank was founded as a micro payment Internet bank targeted on small "virtual" account settlements and the provision of real time bank settlements over the mobile phone. Its principal business is to provide deposit, forex, micro payment/settlement services. eBank plans to leverage the operations of its shareholders and partners to expand its user base, raise usage levels and supply new content.
To provide liquidity and convenience, eBank has established strategic relationships with the Postal Savings Bank and 7-Eleven convenience stores, through which eBank has secured access for customers through 39,000 ATMs.
